What is Brazilian waxing?
A Brazilian wax removes all the hair in the intimate area, at the front, on the upper inner thighs and at the back. Depending on what you want, you can leave a small strip, a triangle or a square at the front, or remove everything; that is your decision.
Waxing removes the whole hair including the root, unlike shaving which only cuts the hair at the surface. That is why the result lasts considerably longer, the skin becomes smoother, and you are spared stubble, razor bumps and quick regrowth. With regular waxing the hair also becomes finer and sparser over time, as the follicles gradually weaken. If you want to be rid of the regrowth entirely, permanent hair removal with a diode laser is the alternative for lasting hair-free skin.
Brazilian with numbing cream, for a more comfortable experience
Let us be honest: a Brazilian wax can sting, particularly the first time before the skin has got used to it. It gets less uncomfortable the more often you do it, but if you want to take away as much of the discomfort as possible we offer Brazilian with numbing cream.
The cream is applied to the area around 20 to 30 minutes before the waxing and makes the skin less sensitive, so you can relax during the treatment. It is a particularly appreciated choice for a first visit, for sensitive skin, or simply because you prefer to be as comfortable as possible. Do ask us about numbing cream when you book.

Preparation
Before your treatment
This is how you prepare for a wax that is as comfortable and effective as possible.
- The hair needs to be at least a few millimetres long, roughly a grain of rice to a centimetre, for the wax to get a grip. If you have shaved, wait until the hair has grown out somewhat
- Do not wax, pluck or shave the area in the weeks beforehand, the hair should come away with the wax
- Exfoliate the area lightly a couple of days before, it reduces the risk of ingrown hairs
- If you want numbing cream, say so when booking and we will plan in time to let it work first
- Avoid booking right during your period, the skin is often more sensitive then; the days afterwards are better
After the wax: avoid sauna, swimming pools, hard exercise and tight clothes for the first 24 hours, and exfoliate lightly after a few days to keep the skin smooth and help prevent ingrown hairs.

How long does a Brazilian wax last?
The result usually lasts four to six weeks depending on your hair growth. Since the hair is taken from the root it takes longer to grow back than after shaving, and it grows back softer. If you wax regularly the hair becomes finer and sparser over time, and the interval between treatments can grow longer.
How long does the hair have to be?
The hair needs to be at least a couple of millimetres, roughly a grain of rice, for the wax to get a proper grip. If it is too short the wax cannot take hold of the hairs. If you have shaved recently, wait about two weeks so the hair has grown out. If the hair is very long we do not need you to trim it, we sort that on the spot.
Can I be waxed during my period?
It is fine to wax during your period if you use a tampon or menstrual cup, but bear in mind that the skin is often more sensitive and the waxing can be felt more. Many people prefer to book the days after their period. Do what feels right for you, and know that we always work discreetly and professionally.
How do I avoid ingrown hairs?
The best trick is regular mild exfoliation of the area; start a couple of days after the wax and continue once a week or so. Avoid clothes that are too tight straight afterwards, and keep the skin hydrated. Waxing actually leads to fewer ingrown hairs than shaving over time, since the hair grows back softer and finer.
Is it embarrassing to have an intimate wax?
It is entirely natural to feel a little nervous the first time, but for us it is an everyday thing and nothing is embarrassing.
