Powder brows are a particularly good choice for mature, coarse or oily skin, where hair stroke techniques can blur over time. The method is gentle on the skin and lasts up to two years. The result is even, soft and elegant, and suits both those who want a natural impression and those who like a more pronounced brow.
3D brows, lifelike hair strokes
3D brows use an advanced tattooing technique to create the look of ultra-fine, long-lasting hair strokes that blend with your own brow hairs. By drawing in hairs one by one following the brow’s natural growth direction, a result is built that is hard to tell from real brow hairs, perfect if you want to fill sparse patches or give the shape more structure without it looking drawn on.
Where powder brows give a soft, filled surface, 3D brows give the illusion of more individual hairs. At the consultation we help you choose which technique suits your brows, your skin and the expression you are after; sometimes a combination of the two gives the finest result.
Powder brows or 3D brows, which suits you?
Both techniques give fuller, well-shaped brows that last a long time, but they suit different skin and different wishes:
- Choose powder brows if you have oily, coarse or mature skin, want a soft powdered look, or like the impression of brows lightly filled in with pencil or powder.
- Choose 3D brows if you have normal to dry skin, want to fill sparse patches lifelike, and prefer the illusion of individual hairs to a filled surface.
A combination can give the most natural and durable result: hair strokes for structure and light shading for fullness. If you would rather lift and shape your own brow hairs, entirely without pigment, a brow lift with brow lamination is a gentler alternative.

How the treatment works
Permanent makeup for brows is done at a calm pace and with careful preparation:
- Consultation, shape and colour: we measure and draw the shape of the brows to suit your features, and choose the colour to match your hair and skin tone. You approve everything before we begin.
- Numbing: the area is numbed with a topical anaesthetic so the treatment is comfortable.
- Pigmentation: the pigment is worked in superficially, with shading for powder brows or hair strokes for 3D brows.
- Result and aftercare: immediately afterwards the colour is darker and the brows more pronounced, which is entirely normal and lightens during healing. You leave with clear aftercare advice.
For the best and most durable result, a touch-up a few weeks later is usually included, where we top up and adjust colour and shape according to how the skin has healed. If you want to combine the brows with more, we also do permanent eyeliner tattoo and lip pigmentation with lip blush.

Preparation
Before your treatment
This is how you prepare for your powder brows or 3D brows.
- Avoid blood thinners such as ibuprofen and aspirin, and alcohol, for 24 hours beforehand; it reduces swelling and helps the pigment settle. Never pause medication from a doctor without consulting them first
- Do not pluck, wax or tint the brows in the week before, let us see your natural brow growth so we can shape to it
- Pause retinol, AHA/BHA acids and other strong skincare on the forehead and brows for a week beforehand
- If you have had botox in the forehead, wait at least two weeks, and avoid sun and sunbeds in the week before
- Come with your brows made up as you usually wear them, it helps us understand the shape you want
- After the treatment: the brows are darker and more pronounced for the first few days, then they flake lightly and the colour lightens to its true result; do not pick at the flakes
- Keep the brows dry and free of makeup until they have healed, avoid sun, sauna, swimming and exercise, and follow the aftercare advice you are given

The final result is only judged after healing and the touch-up.
Does the treatment suit me if I have almost no brow hair of my own?
Yes, both powder brows and 3D brows build brows even where your own hairs are very sparse, since the pigment creates both shape and fullness. If you have very little brow hair, powder brows are often the most durable choice, since the shading does not need existing hairs to blend into. At the consultation we see what suits your brows best.
Why is a touch-up included?
